5. Easy maintenance, quick replacement, longer life

The violet laser diode has a small size and a high degree of modularity. Therefore, maintenance and replacement are simpler and the production efficiency can be improved.

Some people mistakenly believe that violet lasers have a short lifetime. They are actually misled by hydrogen lasers. The working principle of hydrogen lasers is that the laser tubes are constantly lit during operation. They require a large amount of starting energy to excite argon gas to generate laser light. The mode controls the switch, but the laser spot is controlled by the constant light tube and lens deflection. Therefore, the average life expectancy is only about 2.5 years, and the effective production time is also very short.


The working principle of the violet laser is that the diode consumes a very small amount of energy. When it is not in operation (power on but no exposure), the laser is not lit. This effectively extends the life of the laser. Violet laser diodes have a lifetime of more than 3ooodx~, with 103 (hmu x 770mm size plates for example, 100 pieces a day, 250 days a year for 3000 hours, equivalent to a 3.5 year investment return of no less than an infrared diode laser. Manufacturers also do not need to replace the laser head every year, and some manufacturers claim that the purple laser generators they produce can have a lifetime of up to 10 years, which is more profitable to the printing company.
